Aleks picked his gamertag randomly.

He used to play on his Sega Genesis a lot as a kid. When he got older, he began using his mother's computer to play PC games. He began playing first-person shooters as a teenager, first with Halo and later with Call of Duty. He began following YouTubers like DigitalFear and Coutra.

When Team Fortress 2 was released in 2007, Aleks started playing it on his Xbox and started recording and uploading videos of his gameplay to YouTube. Later, he collaborated with Machinima to produce Halo content for them. Although he had started making content as a hobby, he soon gathered followers and was able to make money off of it.
