Nickmercs has been playing console games since childhood, with his first being Golden Eye on his Nintendo 64. This was also what got him hooked on fps games, which he would often play with his friends while he was growing up.

He began competing on online Gears of War tournaments when he was 16, which is how he met Ninja. After competing in a few national LAN events, he moved on to other fps games such as Halo and Call of Duty. After a few years of uploading videos to YouTube, he decided to try out streaming on Twitch in 2014. In 2016, he joined 100 Thieve's CoD team and then later switched over to their Fortnite team shortly after its release. He remained with 100T untilhe switched over to FaZe Clan in May 2019.

NicKmercs is known for his fps skills, sense of humor of body-building.He also holds the world record for most kills in a squad match in Fortnite at 54 kills.
