Since she was six years old, RoryPlays has been playing video games with her grandparents. She was raised by her grandparents. In fact, her grandmother was the one who first introduced her to Xbox games. Super Mario Bros. on her NES was her very first video game. She first played The Sims in 2002 while she was a college student, and she has been addicted ever since. She currently streams part-time and serves as Nodecraft's community manager full-time.

In September 2015, she started posting videos to YouTube. She made the decision to purchase a gaming PC with some of her inheritance after her grandmother passed away. She soon after learned about Twitch and in January 2017 made the decision to give streaming a shot. She continues to play a lot of variety games in addition to the Sims franchise and will occasionally do a baking stream.
