She originally used her first name, but her friends recommended that she use a different one so that she wouldn't be targeted in-game for being a girl. So she went with 'sapphiRe,' but only realized later that it probably didn't conceal her gender too well.

sapphiRe has been playing video games since childhood and got into CS 1.6 in 1999.

She started streaming on Twitch in October 2014 and began loading content to YouTube in March 2016.
