Amouranth Talks About Where Twitch Went Wrong

Amouranth, a well-known Twitch streamer, recently criticized the site for lacking a viable business plan.

Amouranth was the most popular female streamer on Twitch last year. She recently made the decision to join a contract with Kick, a competitor to the platform, ending her exclusivity with the Amazon-owned livestreaming website. Amouranth has been one of the most well-known female broadcasters on Twitch ever since she began her career there back in 2016. She currently has over 6.4 million followers. She eventually achieved fame on websites like OnlyFans and YouTube as well, becoming to become one of the most well-known online personalities in recent memory.

She does, however, frequently appear in several controversies. For instance, Amouranth was frequently banned from Twitch owing to dressing in “inappropriate” attire while streaming. On her personal page, Amouranth recently discussed the faults she thinks Twitch has made most egregiously, explaining that, contrary to popular belief, the fundamental problem is not so much that the platform was trying to squeeze its creators.

She claims that Twitch’s “biggest sin” is to have developed a business model that can only be successful when used on a larger scale, such as YouTube. She argues that livestreaming has a much smaller potential audience than pre-recorded recordings, and most users of these platforms are unable to reach this audience and build a truly lucrative career there. Amouranth thinks that since the current methods of monetizing the material are failing, Twitch either needs to develop ways to enable its creators to expand their overall potential market or come up with a far better one.

Not long after Amouranth joined Kick, there was a fresh round of criticism. Amouranth is the most recent celebrity to join the buzzed-about new site, which has only been online for around half a year but has recently seen some success. But as of right now, it’s still unclear how much money she received under the terms of her deal with Kick. Amouranth’s action was probably influenced by xQc, a well-known Twitch streamer. To attend Kick, XQc received a deal for $70-100 million. Now that more and more streamers are slowly but steadily switching to the competition, it is unclear how Twitch will respond to this news. This will undoubtedly have an impact on its viewership and may even exacerbate its financial problems.
