Berry Banned From Twitch

A well-known Twitch streamer Berry, a professional dancer from Korea with over 550,000 loyal followers and a sizable fan base, has been suspended from the platform over claims that she violated Twitch’s community guidelines.

Berry’s appeal on Twitch may be credited to her captivating streams, which span genres like Just Chatting and IRL. She is also known for her reputation for delving expertly into a variety of games, such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Just Dance 2018, and others. It’s undeniable that Twitch is a hugely well-liked platform, having attracted a huge following among gamers and streamers all over the world thanks to its extraordinary adaptability and extensive selection of features. However, Twitch’s stringent community rules have frequently been the focus of debate. While Twitch does provide some creative freedom, it also imposes clear rules that must be followed; every infraction of these rules increases the likelihood of suspension.

Berry is the most well-known female streamer to receive a ban as a result of breaking Twitch’s rules. Berry has previously experienced bans for violations of Twitch’s community guidelines, though detailed information on the reason for her most recent ban and its duration is lacking. This is Berry’s third overall ban, according to Streamers Ban. Her first ban occurred in February 2021 and lasted for 7 days.

Berry’s second ban from Twitch, which was enforced in February 2022 and only lasted 6 days, managed to cause a substantial and contentious debate within the rapidly expanding streaming community.

The prohibition was initially indefinite when it was announced. She included a dance routine while donning a sports bra and leggings, even employing a pair of handcuffs as a prop at one point, which resulted in this suspension. Many people thought the resulting punishment was excessively harsh, including prominent streamer Esfand. Berry has yet to respond to her most recent Twitch suspension, but it’s crucial to note the emerging pattern of broadcasters aggressively objecting to such restrictions. For instance, the well-known streamer Fousey disclosed that he had signed a contract with Twitch’s rival Kick.com after receiving two bans in the span of a single week. Another example is Chica, a well-known Twitch streamer who suggested switching to Kick when Twitch controversially decided to remove one of her innocent emotes.

This demonstrates how streamers are becoming more open to investigating alternate platforms in the wake of Twitch bans.
