After Pokimane declared she wouldn’t “compromise her morals” to migrate from Twitch to Kick amid the platforms’ continuing dispute, Corinna Kopf criticised the streamer on Twitter.
The streaming conflicts continue as many of Twitch’s top broadcasters choose to Kick instead of the recognisable purple streaming site. Recently, top Twitch stars xQc and Amouranth joined Kick, dealing the Amazon-owned website a devastating blow. One well-known broadcaster, though, refuses to switch from Twitch to its green opponent.
Imane “Pokimane” Anys, the most popular female Twitch streamer, has made it plain in the past that she prefers Twitch to other platforms because of its chat functionality and general culture. But as more renowned streamers opted to do so on Kick, fans began to wonder if Poki would follow suit. As a result, she addressed the issue in a recent stream. “Why would I compromise my morals and ethics for more money when I have money?” she answered after a fan asked her if she’d join Kick for a $10 million deal. “Something about that is so cringe to me, personally,” she continued. “Like, I understand if you need to make money, right? For me to do cringe sh*t when I have money — I can’t. Like, ew.”
Kick has been under fire for its lax rules on the types of content that are and are not permitted on its platform, including sexual content, gambling, and more. Adin Ross, a fervent fan of Andrew Tate who has even urged his viewers to hurt others for money, is among the controversial creators that call it home. One person shared a recording of Pokimane labelling Kick “cringe” and labelling the streamer “insecure” un comparison to other producers who joined Kick for incredibly lucrative deals, sparking indignation against Pokimane online.
Poki noticed the critic’s remark and responded with a quote-retweet. She wrote, “Me: It’d be cringe for me to compromise my morals and ethics for money,” she wrote. “Random mfs online: You’re insecure! Jealous! Salty! O…K…. Y’all want something to be mad about so bad lmao.”
Corinna Kopf, a well-known streamer and the founder of OnlyFans, noticed Anys’ tweet and joined Kick not long after Adin Ross did earlier this year. It appears that neither Kopf nor Poki were really taken with what the Twitch star had to say because Kopf referred to Poki as “self-righteous” for the manner in which she discussed Kick. “You’re putting your moral opinion on the internet, what do you expect?” she wrote in response. “Especially when you sound so self-righteous.”
After Anys spoke out against Twitch permitting gambling on its platform in 2022, Corinna made a notable accusation against Pokimane for ostensibly having a gambling broadcast up in the background of one of her old YouTube videos.
