Hasan, a well-known Twitch streamer, is criticizing TikTok for allegedly banning him when his videos get popular on their platform, supposedly as a result of widespread reporting.
Hasan is a well-known Twitch streamer with more than 2.3 million fans. Hasan is primarily recognized for his political commentary, which comprises a sizable percentage of his programming, despite the fact that he frequently broadcasts alongside and engages in video game play with other broadcasters.
Hasan frequently makes comments about the news and societal topics. On his TikTok account, he occasionally posts excerpts from his Twitch streams where he talks about these topics. Hasan, however, asserts that TikTok often bans him whenever one of his videos on social issues becomes popular on the platform. This allegedly happened just recently, as his account is currently inaccessible as a result of a reported ban.
This assertion was made by the streamer in a tweet on January 16 that included a screenshot of a TikTok notification stating that his account had been “permanently banned” for “multiple violations” of the website’s Community Guidelines. Hasan claims that whenever these videos get popular, a large number of people complain his account, causing TikTok to delete his profile. According to the streamer, the most recent video to cause a ban was one in which Hasan discussed racism while watching an ASMR and gaming video.
He remarked on Twitter, “Every time a TikTok of mine goes viral, I get mass reported and permanently banned. Nice system.”
Not only that, but Hasan also alleges that his editor’s account was banned. He urged the website to act to address the alleged mass reports against him and his fan accounts. As was already reported, Hasan has already received the boot on TikTok. Hasan was famously removed from the app in 2022 after he posted a video berating Queen Elizabeth II in the wake of her passing.
Hasan has also criticized TikTok in the past, branding it the “dumbest social media platform” when the app was unintentionally banned last year for violating its Community Guidelines. The Twitch streamer later revealed his Twitter DMs with TikTok support, indicating that he had reportedly been banned for engaging in “hateful conduct” by discussing racism on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Hasan inquired as to whether the response was automatic when a representative informed him that the ban would remain for this reason during the call. Thankfully, as of January 17, Hasan’s TikTok account has been restored; however, he asserts that the account of his editor, Ostonox, is still blocked.
Oddly, his username, bio, and profile photo were all deleted. Hasan has since changed his profile image, however his username still contains numbers.
