Kick Gets Over A Million New Users

Over a million new users joined the livestreaming platform in less than a day after xQc’s debut stream as a result of being signed to Kick.

The internet is buzzing about Kick’s non-exclusive partnership with xQc. It’s not surprising that xQc’s supporters have gone to Twitch’s competitor livestreaming platform because the streamer was near the top of the platform at the time of his contract. But he arrived like a bolt from the blue. Since the website has been experiencing problems keeping online due to the high volume of visitors, Kick has promised to replace their servers soon. In addition, according to Paulie, Kick’s head of product, over a million additional users signed up for the website in the hours after xQc arrived.

After xQc’s debut stream, Kick might gain over a million new visitors, which would be a significant amount in and of itself. But over a million individuals signed up for Kick in only 24 hours, indicating that they went out of their way to make an account and perhaps subscribe to their favorite streamer. It would be safe to argue that users that register with Kick are much more likely to visit the website again and increase traffic in the future.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Kick experienced such tremendous traffic that the website found it difficult to maintain its services. Kick claims that they are going through “exponential expansion” and are updating their services to cope. Kick was unable to handle the massive viewership xQc was pulling when he went live because of his typical viewership of close to, and occasionally over, 70K people.

Though it’s unclear whether Kick’s bet on xQc will pay off in the long run for the budding livestreaming platform, it’s obvious that their investment has had a huge influence in the present.
