Myth Defends Pokimane

In his most recent post, YouTube streamer Myth praised Imane “Pokimane” and slammed those who criticised her remarks about Kick.

The June 20 livestreamed viral argument with xQc was a high point in the continuing controversy over large creators jumping platforms. The streaming community is divided about whether Kick’s affiliation with Stake is morally acceptable, and since the discussion noted above, videos criticising Imane have been making the rounds on social media.

While many in the industry, including well-known content creators, have praised xQc for his recent $100 million agreement with Kick, the fellow Canadian Twitch broadcaster has taken issue with it. Supporters of the platform have expressed concern over a video in which Pokimane says she won’t sign a contract with connections to cryptocurrency gambling because she doesn’t want to compromise her principles. Ali “Myth,” in a recent thread on Twitter, defended her and called out the individuals who were criticising her for airing her opinions. He stated: “There is absolutely nothing wrong with Poki making her own decision about not wanting to be on a platform. Y’all be projecting like a mother f*cker simply because she wants to operate differently than y’all. What happened to live and let live? Fake mfers.”

He added in a mocking post that those who were offended by Poki’s remarks should stay off the internet. Additionally, Myth claimed that people who are upset on behalf of millionaires (i.e., Kick’s stakeholders, which include streamers like xQc) are being foolish and that Pokimane was well within her rights to express her viewpoint.
