Nmplol Recalls Racist Incident

Twitch celebrity Nick “Nmplol” recently organized a couples cooking competition for other content creator during a broadcast. The streamer chose to relate an anecdote while the participants were talking about ethnicity during the show. He explained that, other from one isolated incident in Amsterdam, he had seen very little racism while traveling. He remembered: “I was in the train station, and I was walking by, and one of the people looked at me and straight up called me the N-word.”

Nmplol and his partner Malena were joined by Russell and Luna for the couples cooking challenge. Russel explained how listening to Akon’s “Mama Africa” made him want to visit Africa around an hour after the broadcast began: “We’re in the car, and Mama Africa comes on. It’s such a beautiful song, it speaks to me.”

Russell also claimed that he took a 23andMe test to discover his ethnicity and discovered that he is originally from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria. Malena continued to talk about how she doesn’t want to take an ancestry test since she thinks she might have Danish ancestry: “I wouldn’t want to do a test like that, in case I’m Danish, because I would just lose my sh*t at that.”

In response to a conversation about the many European ethnic groups, Nmplol related his own travels around the continent: “I’ve had zero bad experiences with anybody…everywhere I’ve went to, I’ve been accepted… except for the one time I was in Amsterdam.”

The streamer made a rather humorous return to the incident. He made light of Russell’s inquiry on how he responded to the use of the N-word by saying: “I looked around and asked him where? (laughs) No, I looked at him and said “what?” and he just kept going.”

The video was posted online, and many fans praised the Twitch celebrity for keeping the proceedings light-hearted while outlining his experience.
