While waiting outside a Gucci store in Paris, France, an IRL Twitch streamer caught the moment a burglar swiped a woman’s purse on camera.

Some of the craziest online video is produced by IRL (short for “in real life”) feeds on Twitch. In Twitch’s extensive collection of IRL broadcasts, which range from fights breaking out in fast food restaurants to streamers being attacked by monkeys and more, there is always something new to discover. The fact that many creators are catching crimes as they happen in real time — and occasionally even becoming the victims of crimes themselves — might make these IRL videos a little terrifying at times. 

Despite not being a victim of a crime, Twitch streamer “FransizSerdaR” managed to capture a thief in the act. On the evening of June 19, as Fransiz was waiting outside a Gucci store in Paris, France, an incident occurred. A man exited a car that was parked in front of the storefront during his broadcast, raced up to a woman crossing the street, and yanked her pocketbook from her hands. 

The man kept attempting to yank the bag away from the woman, but she wouldn’t let go and wound up being dragged over the ground. Fortunately, the woman appeared unharmed; however, the burglar ultimately managed to take the handbag and drive away from the scene.

The remaining portion of the broadcast is not accessible on FransizSerdaR’s channel, so it’s unknown what transpired after this. However, it’s not the first time a streamer has discovered a theft while live-streaming. In a comical turn of events, Twitch star Esfand actually held the door open for a burglar during a stream in March as they were being pursued by security personnel.
