Streamer JOEYKAOTYK Reportedly Been Arrested

According to reports, after video himself and a buddy visiting abandoned buildings in Japan’s Fukushima prefecture, American Twitch streamer “JOEYKAOTYK” was taken into custody.

Japan was shaken on March 11, 2011, when the nation endured a 9.0-9.1 underwater earthquake that triggered a string of enormous tsunamis. Three nuclear reactors at the Fukushima Daiichi power facility experienced meltdowns as a result of these natural calamities combined. The occurrence, often known as the “Fukushima Daiichi Accident,” continues to rank among the worst nuclear disasters ever documented in human history. Around the facility, there is a “exclusion zone” where radiation levels are thought to be too high for people to endure. Some regions of Fukushima are still off-limits as of this writing.However, that didn’t stop a daring Twitch streamer and his friend from trying to explore these fortified areas on their own.

Breakdancer and Twitch streamer “JOEYKAOTYK” and buddy and fellow “adventurer” Michael Gakuran left to explore Fukushima on June 19. The two streamed their explorations of deserted homes and structures, some of which appeared to have been abandoned by their owners recently because they exhibited hardly any indications of ageing or wear and tear. The two opened a window to enter an inn, but their stream abruptly came to an end. 

It turns out that the streamers were detained on suspicion of breaking into a building, as Fukushima TV reported. According to police records, on June 20, at approximately 11:20 PM, the streamers allegedly broke into a shut-down inn in Okuma Town, Fukushima Prefecture. Internet users reportedly watched the stream and alerted local authorities about the explorers, according to Fukushima TV. Users have criticised the pair for “trespassing” into nearby homes and structures, according to comments found on several websites.

By far not the first time a Twitch streamer has been detained for their antics; in 2018, a streamer was taken into custody and released on a $75,000 bail after activating a false bomb warning at his institution.
