Streamer xGeeVee Goes Viral

Due to the peculiar channel point incentives on his stream, one Twitch streamer has become extremely popular. The person in question is xGeeVee, a content producer who has 23,000 followers and plays NBA 2K.

On January 27, 2023, he began playing the game in real time. The extra twist in this broadcast was a smoke machine and lighting set up to mimic the effects of either a flashbang or a smoke grenade. Viewers could purchase these with channel points. Although many creators have engaged in some bizarre behavior for views and community involvement, xGeeVee’s decision to allow fans to throw smoke bombs in his face was undoubtedly on the more extreme end of the scale.

On Twitch, users can earn points by engaging with a stream and watching it in order to gain channel points, a customisable rewards program. Then, fans can exchange them for a selection of unique incentives that the streamer has established. These incentives differ from one video producer to the next; some provide exclusive bespoke emotes usually only available to subscribers or let viewers queue up a certain music for the stream.

As is the case with Twitch streamer xGeeVee, some people decide to make their channel point awards more distinctive. The bonuses he had set when he went live to play NBA 2K23 on Friday, January 27, were almost masochistic. When someone used their channel points to purchase a smoke grenade, the Twitch streamer had a smoke machine next to his face that would go off, and the flashbang caused a flash of light to appear in his eyes.

Every time the former sounded, he had a coughing fit. The smoke alarm was set off by a series of its blasts. The flashbang prize, in contrast, was a little less impressive because it didn’t seem like the light was so bright. Although some viewers cautioned xGeeVee against using his smoke machine excessively in his room, the Twitch streamer did not appear very bothered about it.

Overall, the stream was hectic and exciting because to the smoke grenades and flashbangs. Although it wouldn’t be a good idea for other broadcasters to set off smoke machines in their faces, the concept worked well as a playful method to increase viewing.
